Eugenio
Ramírez Villafuerte known as “Rocco” was born in Ciudad Cortés,
a small town to the south of the country. After 25 years fishing
around Costa Rica including Guanacaste, Los Sueños Herradura
and Drake Bay, this experienced captain is featured by his humbleness
and the passion for big fish. “Rocco” was raised in the cities
of Alajuela and San José but destiny brought him up to the seas.
His good attitude and positivism would amaze you. Capt. Junior Smith Tucker: Junior was born in Limon, the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica; has been a saltwater fisherman for most of his life, he learned to fish from his father when he was 10 years old. He moved to Quepos 11 years ago. As an angler, Junior has a great deal of experience catching Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Rooster fish and more. His biggest catch was a Black Marlin 800 pounds in Quepos running the Magic Moon, 5 years ago. And a 310 pound Yellow fin tuna on the Ojaran III. Captain Junior takes pleasure in sharing the beauty of the Quepos waters and his knowledge of its marine life with his guests, while providing a safe and fun experience for all who come aboard the Ojaran II and Ojaran III. Mate Juan Carlos “Corea”: Corea
is from Quepos, Central Pacific of Costa Rica; he is a nice
person and a very hard worker with many years of fishing experience
in the area and he will make your fishing experience a memorable
one is friendly and makes you feel very welcome aboard our boats.
He has worked with Luna Tours 3 years. With many thousands of
hours fishing, which goes hand in hand with experience
and there’s not much you can tell him about fishing. Mate Alex Gutierrez: He was born in Cartago, Central Valley of Costa Rica. He decided to move to Quepos 11 years ago. Alex started working in the Commercial fishing industry but six years ago began working in Sportfishing. Alex has been a quick learner. He is young with a lot of energy and we have received many comments as to how likeable he is as well as a great fisherman. Occasionally our crew members need to take a day off, and we substitute the captains and mates to provide an equal or greater fishing experience for our clients aboard our boats.
